One of the best things about working in school marketing is the daily feed of good news we receive.
Every day, schools from across London send us photos showing us the amazing things they’ve been up to.
This Earth Day, I’m already so inspired by the young learners embracing this year’s theme: Our Power, Our Planet. This morning alone, we’ve received photos of children as young as five pledging their actions to make greener choices for a more sustainable tomorrow.
At AmplifiED, we wanted to mark this important day by sharing how we support schools to market more sustainably, using digital strategies and clever tools that are kinder to the planet.
Here are our top five tips to help your school market more sustainably this Earth Day and beyond.
🌱 Pick paperless for your prospectus
Did you know a single school can use over 1 million sheets of paper annually and spend up to £60,000 a year on printing and photocopying? Your prospectus doesn’t need to be part of that statistic. A beautifully designed, digitally hosted prospectus or one pager with a clever QR (more on them later) not only reduces your environmental impact but also saves time and money.
📣 Reduce flyer waste with targeted ads
At AmplifiED, we love knowing the results we’re getting for our clients, which is why we swear by targeted ads. They help you reach the right audience on the platforms they already use, all within a set budget. No printing, no waste, and no door-to-door distribution.
📱 Go organic with super social media
Flyers and prospectuses can only tell a prospective parent so much. Your school’s social media, however, offers a dynamic window into daily life. It’s engaging, real-time and free. A well-curated and monitored feed can build trust and community while cutting down on physical materials.
🔗 Choose QR codes for clever comms
Schools often have a lot of information to share with prospective and current parents. QR codes are a simple and smart solution. Just scan and go. Whether linking to newsletters, forms or tour booking pages, they reduce the need for handouts and unnecessary printing.
📰 Digitise your newsletter
If AmplifiED could invest in Smore, we would. Printed newsletters are a thing of the past. Digital newsletters are not only more eco-friendly, they’re more accessible too. They’re easier to share, view on any device and update instantly. A real win-win.
We hope you’ve found our tips helpful and inspiring.
Have a brilliant Earth Day and happy green marketing!
